Barath Raj KR is a highly skilled R&D professional with over 13 years of relevant experience in the field of AI, NLP, NLU, and ML. He is currently working as the Principal Architect & Part Head at Samsung, where he is responsible for leading the Framework Intelligence (OnDevice AI R&D) team. In this role, he has been instrumental in designing the On-Device Learning Framework for the On-Device AI Eco-system, ideating and commercializing the Screen Understanding Framework for the AI Platform, and creating the strategy and roadmap for innovative tech areas and AI/ML challenges. Prior to his current role, Barath served as the Architect II & Part Head at Samsung, where he was responsible for leading the Keyboard & Text Intelligence (OnDevice AI R&D) team. In this role, he ideated and commercialized several innovative solutions, including the Emoji Prediction Engine, the Universal Search solution in Keyboard, and India-specific solutions for language detection and multilingual texting. He also designed expressive card creation with Text AI & Font AI, pursuing 3P collaboration for textual intent detection, information extraction, font prediction, font detection engines, and energy-efficient inference engines. Barath has a strong educational background, with a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science from Anna University, a Post Graduate Diploma in Data Science from IIIT Bangalore, a Master of Science in Data Science from Liverpool John Moores University, and he is currently pursuing a Doctor of Business Administration from the Swiss School of Business and Management, with a focus on Data Science, AI/ML.
